BLADE LIFE: An Interview with Anthony Medina

This new one in the works that is set to drop in May, “Dag Days,” who’s featured in it, and who seems to be working really hard to GSD (Get Shit Done)?
The video features Logan Harlan, Rob Zbranek, Josh Glowicki, Mason Richard, Ian Freunscht, and Ryan Rasmussen. All these guys are amazing in their own ways, and they all bring something different to the table. Everyone has been skating hard for it during the past year or so. Josh and Ryan are two guys that weren’t on the SWAG roster, but I know everybody involved is juiced about their addition. Ryan is just a guy that makes ANYTHING look dope. If you live in Texas you know about Ryan but hopefully people outside of Texas will see how amazing this guy is. Josh Glowicki is the ultimate pro. Josh was a late addition to the roster and wanted to get in on the project. Josh has been my favorite blader in Texas for a minute so I was like..”Are you kidding me? OF COURSE. Let’s do this.” Knowing full well that he was planning on going back to Europe for an extended period of time, we had to really GSD in the time we had together and, as of now, his entire section was filmed in 10 days. Once he gets back we might get another session in, hopefully…

Where did the name of the video come from? What does “Dag Days” Mean?
Here in Texas some of us said “dag” instead of dog… and it just caught on. I thought Greg started saying “dag” but he claims I did, and I’ve heard other people give different stories. It was mostly just a funny thing some of us said but it caught on and now basically everybody in Texas says “dag.” Dag Days are those blading days where you go out with your homies and just blade all day. The times, the stories, the friendships… you can’t replace them.

Some people probably don’t know you’re not just a filmier, you’re also one modest blading beast. Why don’t you get out from behind the camera more often and show the game who’s boss?
Well, like I kinda mentioned, I do this for the homies. I’ve always looked at it this way: my friends are better than me, so I’d rather film them and help them get their blading out there instead of myself. When I do get in front of the camera, it’s usually because nothing is going down and I’m trying to liven up the mood and get other people juiced to blade. One thing that I’ve come to terms with, however, is that I’m getting up there in age. I probably don’t have much time left to skate hard like I want to. After this video I will definitely take a break from doing big projects and just blade. I have a decent amount of clips, and once I get some time after this video I’ll hopefully be able film more and make an edit.

Anthony is the Georgetown Giant. He should have been LARGE! One of the super legends of Texas(up there with John Farmer, etc…).

    And still better than you.

It is great to see Ant get some shine. He deserves it! He holds down Texas. Aside from his amazing videos and edits,he kills it on the blades. Plus he is a humble warrior with a good head on his shoulders. Kudos One and Ant!

It still suprises me how Ant can still drop hammers. He’ll bust em out of no where with mad control. One of the coolest dudes behind the camera too. He’s always down to get out and film some clips and still has time to pay the bills…this blade life is much deserved

It’s great to see you in this article. Looks like others ask the same question I’ve asked. “Where are you in the film”? We’re Proud of you always Ant (Tone)!!
