BLADE LIFE: An Interview with Anthony Medina

You’ve done a lot for Texas rollerblading and it’s bladers, so what does it feel like to finally get some shine on yourself?
It’s cool to get in front of the camera from time to time. I know when we first got these pics and showed some people, they were all real juiced about them. I dunno if it’s because they were surprised by them or what. The last thing I want people to think is I’m just some washed up old dude who films because he can’t blade, so it was cool to get some shit done and let them know I still got a little life left in this body. Ha.

What can we expect from you after “Dag Days”?
Hopefully stacking pics with Greg King if he’s still down. Greg is a badass photographer and is super easy to work with. I want to film some stuff as well, but being in a magazine is something that no one can ever take away from you. It’s something you could look back on in 30 years and relive those times. I’m supposed to be in the next issue of Clac (can I say that? ha) so right now my number one goal is to make it in ONE print.

Shout outs?
Thanks to ONE for giving me this opportunity to show people what I’m all about… and just thanks to all my friends. I’ve met such great people through blading and they’re irreplaceable. Thanks to the “Dag Days” crew for wanting to be a part of this project and busting their ass for it, thanks to everybody helping with the project behind the scene (filmers, hypemen, etc), and thanks to Greg for spending his time and money to come to Austin and shoot pics with me. Look out for “Dag Days” May 25th. Come to the premiere if you can and check out the Austin Texas Skate Series competition the next day!

Anthony is the Georgetown Giant. He should have been LARGE! One of the super legends of Texas(up there with John Farmer, etc…).

    And still better than you.

It is great to see Ant get some shine. He deserves it! He holds down Texas. Aside from his amazing videos and edits,he kills it on the blades. Plus he is a humble warrior with a good head on his shoulders. Kudos One and Ant!

It still suprises me how Ant can still drop hammers. He’ll bust em out of no where with mad control. One of the coolest dudes behind the camera too. He’s always down to get out and film some clips and still has time to pay the bills…this blade life is much deserved

It’s great to see you in this article. Looks like others ask the same question I’ve asked. “Where are you in the film”? We’re Proud of you always Ant (Tone)!!
