What’s your name, how old are you, and who do you skate for?

My names Chad Hornish, I’m 19, and I skate for Nimh, INRI, and support Revolution Skate Shop.

What’s your job and what does it do to your blading schedule?

Well, I worked for the United States Postal Service… but I just quit my job! But it did keep me from blading for over six months. I maybe skated five times in the whole six to seven months I was working.

Please explain your motor vehicle.

Ha ha, my car. My pride, my joy, my everything outside of rollerblading. It’s a 1993 Acura Integra; it’s got a lot done to it. Here’s a small list:

2 1/2″ exhaust

Carbon fiber hood

Slotted and drilled rotors

GSR blades

Quick release steering wheel

It’s about to be boosted though (turbo added), and it should be done in February.

What sucks?

Money! Money sucks. I hate that everything depends on it. And the cold, yeah, the cold sucks, too.

Not long ago you got third at AIL Pro Finals. How’d you do that?

Well, this was one of the five or six times I skated in those six months. I basically just went up to Taylor, Kenny, and the guys we were staying with, and said that I was actually going to try this year. No mizous or anything like that. It was a good time and I won $200–$300, so it was a nice treat.

Who/what has had the most influence on your blading?

Umm, I mean Shima has always been my favorite skater. He’s the one that got me juiced to skate in my rec skates. And that was almost 10 years ago, and he’s STILL killing it! And I’m sure he’ll continue to.

Heard you got shot at. How’s it feel to be a gangster?

Yeah, me and Kenny Scherf have had a few bad incidents. Basically, it was X-mas night a couple years back, and me and Kenny were driving back from our friend little Brian’s house, in the rain, and we splashed a truck on accident. Then the motherfuckers started chasing us in the pouring rain, following everything we did. Kenny was flying through red lights while I was on the phone, huddled down in the front, screaming to the cops! Then… BOOM, they shot out of their window, missed us, and after another five minutes of trying to get away a swarm of cops came up from behind and chased them off. And we both lived happily ever after, until next time.

Any other good stories?

Yeah, Cinco De Mayo, two years ago, me and Kenny were in a school parking lot, these guys rolled up on us with a baseball bat and a shotgun and tried to take everything we had. Then Kenny said “Fuck this” and ran, while I froze up. Ha, ha. That sucked.

Got any projects you’ve been working on?

Nothing really, besides finally skating again, and taking pictures with you. Trying to get an edit out sometime soon, but we’ll see.
