Frank earned his first master’s degree in Rhetoric from Colorado State University and a second one in Cognitive Linguistics from Bangor University (Wales). His recent academic work examines aspects of metaphor theory, Conceptual Integration, grammaticalization, and rollerblading discourse.

He has been a ramp builder, house framer, teacher’s assistant, data specialist, and writing center tutor. Currently, he works at the University of Texas and is also an adjunct faculty member at St. Edward’s University. He’s been skating for over twenty years and has appeared in videos and sections produced by Jan Welch, Lonnie Gallegos, Woodward Camp, Chris Majette, Jay Geurink, Brady Fontenot, Anthony Medina, Leon Humphries, and Dave Paine.

Frank is married to author Jess (Wigent) Stoner and lives in Austin.
