Following Erik Burke’s advice from a quote in the booklet that accompanied the first editions of VG4, living his life “honest with friends and foes alike” has kept things interesting for ONE co-captain Justin Eisinger. A guy who started when Hyper Fat Boys were marks of an “aggressive” skater and learned to grind in Cool Blades, JE hails from Akron, Ohio, where he was blading the streets of Northeast Ohio when Louie Zamora, Eric Schrijn and Mike Opalek came to Cleveland in 1996 to film for Day of the Rope. He helped Akron get a skatepark built. After touring for a month with Ryan Schude, Pat Lennen, Oli Short, and BJ Burnhart in 2003, he moved to San Diego to run the Daily Bread editorial department. He wrote and narrated the documentary Barely Dead. In 2006, along with Wes Driver, all creative energies were focused into launching a new media direction for rollerbladers. That was ONE magazine.
