PHOTO JOURNAL

Cody Reffner, aka Showtime, is the young gun of the Pittsburgh blading scene. His youth and energy makes every other blader skate better. I know for a fact that Ryan Parker benefits from having Cody around. They are constantly trying to out-do one another in a lifelong game of one up. During this particular session, Hawke Trackler of Columbus, Ohio was in town to film for his new video “Stairway to Shreddin.” Parker and Cody went trick for trick on this parking garage ledge for the better part of ten minutes before Cody laced this Zero Alley-oop Fishbrain across the whole ledge. We all huddled around to watch the clip and to peek at the photo. Cody and I agreed it was all right, and we moved upstairs to skate a different obstacle. Cody Reffner is good to have around, and you can see more of him in “Yinzer Blading: Vol. 1” coming online soon, as well as in Hawke’s new video. — Bruce Bales
