This is a shot of Johnny Wu (John Williams) steezing out a crossgrab fishbrian. I had a hard time deciding which of these two photos were better, so here are both: The stair set is a bit claustrophobic with walls on both sides and I wanted to show that. I shot the long angle first and liked it because at first glance it’s not exactly clear what he’s doing. Is he gapping the stair set, or is he grinding the rail? It’s tough to tell without a closer look. The second fisheye angle I thought was cool because it’s easier to see the skater, and I also liked the composition, even though I’m not usually a fan of the crooked fisheye. Which shot do you prefer? — Gabe Holm
i think the fisheye one makes his face kind of squished. the first one i think is best, because it makes the viewer have to look close at the image and look it over more than once, i also like how clastrophobic it makes you feel. However, the second one, when you first look at it you instantly know what he is doing. but that is just my opinion….
WU! WU! WU! WU! WU! WU! WU!
I like the straight on longer shot tbh, gives an interesting feel for the scale of the stair set. A bit of work to give some definition to the sky (clouds) would improve it in my opinion.
I would prefer the second one if the sky was a little bit more interesting and if there was not sooo much empty space at the bottom of the shot!
I like The long shot..Wu Wu Wu!
i definately prefer the first straight-on shot. Its that kind of shot that an experienced blader will appriciate, for that spot, it was nice seeing the simetrical walls closing in on him.
