I came across this spot few months ago while shooting promo pics for the Hedonskate Summer Lookbook. It is an old mooring (Ed’s note: think dock) in the local park in Chorzow. The place is not used anymore, yet there is always someone around effectively guarding it, so it took a few good weeks of scoping it out until we could actually skate it.
For this photo we got there around noon. The beautiful Polish autumn welcomed us with orange sun and falling leaves flying everywhere. We moved the boat to the right place, waxed it a little bit, and Basza started to warm up. The problem was the super short approach and rather small area of the whole spot in general, and like it wasn’t enough, I had some problems with flashes, which seemed not to work properly with so much water and concrete around. Still, we knew we had to get the shot, we keep trying until all four flashes went off correctly and Basza was happy with his trick. Canon 5D, 28-135mm @ 50mm, f5.6, 1/250s. — Christofer Luca
