Notch rail is a perfect 22-stair rail. Good run up, not too high, good length to hold a trick, and it is in the middle of a ghetto area at a public park. Santee and a few other people know about it. I got lucky a few years back and was with a group of people who had heard about this rail, so we spent about two hours driving around aimlessly, attempting to find this elusive spot.

Over the summer I had the opportunity to take the Razors team around while they were filming “Game Theory.” We had just been booted from one of my spots when Brazil got a call from Louie Zamora. Louie wanted to meet up with everyone and show them around to some of the spots he had found. He ended up showing us a variety of spots along a main road in south east county San Diego. But once we started driving around in circles, not finding whatever it was that Louie was looking for, he yelled out his window, “Steinmetz, lead the way, I’m trying to find that rail in the park that’s around here.” I vaguely remembered where it was, so we were off.

Unfortunately, we had very little time to skate the rail before it got too dark to film. Brian and Dre warmed up briefly and tested the speed of the rail. While they were warming up, I was setting up my tripod as to not get in the way of Geoff and Brazil who were actually doing work on “Game Theory.” I had no flashes with me and I only had a basic lens, so I didn’t expect to get much of anything but I wanted to try anyway. Once I setup, Brian started doing true fish. After doing true fish effortlessly, Brian stepped it up minutes later and did a perfect Fullcab Truespin AO Fishbrain down this 22-stair rail with ease, as seen in the video. I captured this with my Nikon D5000 with a 18-55mm @ 22mm, f8, 1/2500, at ISO 800. — Steve Steinmetz
