BIG DEAL: Exclusive Shima Interview

Brian Shima

So Brian, what is the next big step for you?
I have been working on a boot concept for a while now. It has always been a dream of ours to be free of any corporate influence, and we’ve always tried to figure out how we could do it. So this is our next step… a 100% skater-owned boot company, distributed through Rat Tail…

Any name?
Sorry, that info is still confidential.

Damn you! What about all the speculation? Is this going to be like a Xsadjo or Remz?
I can tell you that we aren’t millionaires so we did as many new molds as we could. A soul plate that I hand-designed that comes with a free groove system so you can create your own personalized groove. Also, a new cuff mold that you can lace all the way up. We are keeping the skate as black as sin with some cool highlights. We also provided some toe relief for those of you that have a tendency to stub up.

What about the liner?
Vicious all the way. We did a simple design with sturdy materials, just the way we like it. Alright, I’m done with this conversation, I think you’ve gotten enough out of me for now. One last thing for the ONE readers–This company is skater-owned and operated, and will be run accordingly. Roll on.

Well. As many of as expected shima shows his brilliant mind again, do anybody remember when he left 50/50 and then he announced his new venture Ground Control with jon elliott…. then the same situation when he left mindgame, he and Jon took Chris Haffey to start 4×4, I was sure when he announced that he was going to left razors, he already had a master plan for his future so here we are.

Brian if you read this, Good luck with this project, I hope to see your real Skated Owned Boots Brand soon… and as Jason Reyna Said : Can i reserve a pair already ? Can you deliver a pair to Peru ?
