Watch The Big Break contest edits

The following edits were submitted to The BIG BREAK edit contest by bladers looking for $1,000 in travel money and a chance to rep Kaltik for a year. The competition was open to submission from North, Central, and South America only, with the deadline being February 15th. We’re reposting the edits here, in the order they were submitted, so you have another chance to see them all and cast your final LIKES. Help these guys get to the Panel Judging Finals where proper rollers like Jimmy Shuda and Drew Bachrach will help determine the winner. Good luck to everyone!

Voting officially ends 2/25. LIKES received after that date will not be counted.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: to do something I love to do that I have not been able to do for awhile: travel. Traveling and meeting new friends and seeing new places I never would have been able to see otherwise is my absolute favorite part of rollerblading. Having the opportunity to go to new places to film, skate, experience, and represent a company you ride for is a dream come true for any blader.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: the chance to skate outside of Iowa, on different elements, as well as more often. A sponsorship would be a great way to push myself and the sport while advertising the brand and industry to people who wouldn’t have otherwise seen or heard about it. I’ve always taken pride in being a rollerblader and want nothing more than to be a walking advertisement for it.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: to travel to more events and have a blast with blading (with less stress to my current financial state) and represent a new company that seems to be doing things right. I’ve always wanted to try flat.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: travel to places I have never been to and shred. It would give Iowa some exposure, as well as myself. It would give me an opportunity to connect with more bladers from all over.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: live a dream come true. I love networking within rollerblading — knowing and meeting new people, everything that would encompass being a sponsored rider. It would definitely push me to blade better than I ever have, as every year even as I get older I learn and progress more and more. This would just add a ton of flame to the fire and it would push me harder than I ever have bladed before.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: to represent a great company while doing what I most love to do — blade. It will also allow me to travel out of my city to places I’ve never skated, opening my mind to do things I’m not used to nor familiar with. It will boost my standards 10 times higher then they currently are in film quality, and motivate me to try much more difficult tricks to represent for the Kaltik Frame Brand.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: blade more, because it is an incentive that pushes me to be more in this sport. Though I’ve practiced with love, I’d do it more professionally representing a brand.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: skate, skate and more skate! I want to try these frames because in South America you do not see this kind of frame.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: tour and document some hot talent more than I already have, including my homies and distant locals. It will also allow me to ride 8 down the way I want and still get some grindy shit done.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: road trip through California, Nevada, and Colorado with all of my camera equipment so that I can document some badass rollerblading (probably even twice). Aside from the hardware hook up, the sponsorship would give me the opportunity to share my ideas with some rollerblading business minds. I’m fuming with them. Some one will catch it.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: have the chance to travel the Midwest over the summer, hitting up every street contest possible. As some of you may know this is exactly what I did last summer, attending: Delta City, KY Battle, Windy City Riot, A-town Stomp, A Day in the Zoo, and the James Short Memorial. However, there were a few situations I got myself into that if it weren’t for the prize money I won, I would not of been able to make it back home or pay rent. This Big Break Contest would ease the financial burden of traveling this summer and let me do what I love stress free!

The Big Break opportunity will let me: to expand my skills even further by taking me new places, meeting new people, and by surrounding me in the blading culture. I may not have the best edit or the biggest trick vocabulary but I’m always improving, always taking things a step further. This sponsorship will push me further and hopefully allow for a long, successful blading career.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: be able to ride 8 down on the best frames for a lot longer and to be able to travel to a few competitions in Canada that I have not been able to go to. This is an opportunity to push my blading career in another new way. If I get it, I would like to work with these companies to push and support them, and work with them to help strengthen my community of blading as well. This is a sweet opportunity, and it would be greatly appreciated and a choice these companies will not regret. No matter what the decision, I’m happy for the opportunity and happy for the the person who gets it. You never know what the future holds.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: go a long way to validate my longevity within this hobby, and prove there is skating growth after 30 years of age. With this opportunity I will confidently promote skating as a fluid motion that is much more than just doing tricks. The opportunity will also provide support to a company that produces a product I use and believe is the best the market has to offer.

The Big Break opportunity will let me: represent my country and my sport! Hopefully I’ll earn this sponsorship that helps me travel and became a pro. I´m a biologist — I work with salt water aquariums and that helps me to feed my body. The other thing I love is rollerblading… it feeds my soul!

The Big Break opportunity will let me: visit California, Minneapolis, and Kansas City this year to film a long overdue true profile of myself, which I have never had the chance to document. Along the way I will bring exposure to Kaltik by promoting the brand during my travels, documenting my skating, and bringing a new perspective to the company.
