EVENTS: Ogger’s thoughts on Winterclash

Being a German Rollerblader, what do you have to say about the Winterclash? being in Berlin this year, and are you going?

First of all, I’m proud that the biggest comp in rollerblading is held in Germany. I would love to go but I do not have enough money to go this year.

What do you enjoy most about the Winterclash?

The skatepark where they have the comps are always sick. Just everybody is always there, and skating in front of over 1,500 people kinda pushes me. There is just no other comp like the Wintertrash.

What are the odds of you winning another Winterclash?

Don’t think I’m gonna win this year ’cause I’m not gonna be there. 😉 But you never know; usually everyone pretty much just tries to spin as much as they can into a grind and then land it somehow, which doesn’t work for a lot of them, for the most part. So if you do a lot of sick tricks and land ’em all, you would at least make it to the finals. But for me it also depends on the park, and stuff like that.

What is your most memorable Winterclash?

That would be the first Winterclash, which I won. Never was at a bigger event before.

What is the ratio of European Bladers to American bladers at the comp?

There is gonna be almost every blader from Europe, from the U.S…. I think mainly the pros will come. I would say the Americans can deal better with the park ’cause they are just used to big skate parks; we’re usually used to fingerboard parks.
