PHOTO JOURNAL

On a sunny day in Huntsanton, Matt Alway and I got together for a shoot. A few hectic months had passed since we had last done so, and I found myself massively impressed with how much more confident his skating had gotten in such a short period of time. For this session, he look me to a church yard, of all places, to try getting some shots on a rail that led out of the yard. With a trick in mind we got to work. Because of how tight the spot was, it was an obvious choice to capture the trick with my 10mm fisheye. I used a Canon 540EZ at the bottom of the stairs set at 1/8th power to help freeze the action, and another Canon 540EZ to my right, set at 1/32th power through a diffuser, to give some fill on the spot. All my strobes were linked up to my ever trusty Nikon D50 with Cyber Sync gear. — Sam Cooper
