    Broskow is the shit.

  • Inline Insider - October 15th, 2008

Richie gets my vote. I hear Tom Hyser tried to convince ONE not to have Richie on the list because Tom is trying to kick him off the team. I hear he tried to offer them money and take out ads for RB if they didn’t include him. Weaksauce. Props to ONE for keeping it legit.

Richie worked his ass off his year. The AIL contests he puts on are helping grow the sport, and that’s what we all need. Pros should be behind it more than anyone. The more kids that get into the sport, the more they’ll learn about it, the more pro wheels and skates and videos these guys will eventually sell.

Vote for Rollerblading, Vote Richie Velasquez!

  • hary - October 15th, 2008

    CHRIS HAFFEY!!!

respect to richie he deserve to be on the list, ill put as my 2nd winner and winner for contributor of the year.

sure hes in his 30s but why kick him of the team??, he does work with woodword among other things so mabe it is time to make space for a new force on the team. but in saying that i do not support this if it isnt needed.

if not on the team be appart of the company.

  • Ayman - October 16th, 2008

    fuckin brian aragon man !

  • The seen - October 16th, 2008

Alexander for bringing back the Tie-dye!

  • Shane - October 16th, 2008

    Aragon.. end of.

  • Korean valo skater - October 16th, 2008

    brosky~’ㅁ’

  • RoR - October 16th, 2008

Aragon has lost a step in the last few years, Bailey does the same thing over and over just like Valo does, Jon Jon is too young, Broskow is boring, Farmer is FiRE, Haffey is old news, Montre needs more time, Franky is Franky, Stockwell is cool no matter what, Richie is just old (with all due respect).

Comps don’t mean shit, Farmer has been killing it for awhile now. His Radius section was the sickest, no one compares to the shit he is pulling. Farmer keeps it real in the streets. He has been pushing the limits of this sport and doing things that I never thought were possible on rollerblades.

  • fuser - October 16th, 2008

    broskow

  • bassieboy - October 16th, 2008

Bailey. Kills it and nice fucking guy to boot.

  • rollinoldman - October 16th, 2008

not right to have make a choice here, for me it’s between aragon, haffey, broskow they are still there and bigger than ever. aragon owns all tricks broskow owns his own world and haffey has always the sickest fastest lines in his sections. the others are all crazy too, like nimh team…they will get there prices soon ;-)!

for this year it’s still haffey for me

  • Luda. - October 16th, 2008

    alex.

  • Gooda - October 16th, 2008

    2.Montre Livingston (NimhTeam)

    3.JON jon (NimhTeam)

And wheres SHIMA …he worked hard this year creating a skate company and team? An awesome team

  • nelson mercado - October 16th, 2008

montre. montre isnt even pro yet he is still nimh AM and so is jon jon. but montre definatly deserves it this year montre is a monster hits up everyspot with ease. and his switch up are rediculous. if montre is up there with haffey bailey stockwell and aragon and he isnt pro yet theres a prolblem come shima get him his pro skate. all white prefibly.=p

  • florian - October 16th, 2008

  • Broskow - October 16th, 2008

    ^^^^^^^^^^^ – agreed

    Broskow or die!!!!!!

  • I - October 16th, 2008

Broskow is one of my favorite skaters of all time and he made a great year with valo and winning a couple of comps, but to be honest I think Farmer deserves skater of the year. He is not a park or a comp skater but this year he really pushed rollerblading into a next level with his unbelievable tricks, negatives, negative swithcups, creative tricks, etc. He has this awesome section of the tour in barcelona, the be-mag interview and his own dvd. Broskow just won all those comps with his great style and tricks but nothing new really, you can see all the kids trying to copy farmer’s tricks now and I really think he had a bigger impact in rollerblading this year. Support a true street skaters, my vote is for Farmer!

  • rob - October 16th, 2008

What it comes down to for me is when I think back of this year in skating who am I going to think of. BROSKOW.

  • shane sischo - October 16th, 2008

    Richie VVVVVVV !!!!!!!

  • Ladijal - October 16th, 2008

    Stockwell 100 coment’s

  • Ben G - October 16th, 2008

Congrats to the top 10. Good choices. Where is SHima though. it good to see good coments instead of a bunch of trash talk. Its good to know what guys are doing in the sport. it is not just about big tricks. Its cool that julio and shima started their own companies. Richie V is doing huge stuff too. of course haffey and montre can do crazy tricks. alot of skaters are killing it. just respect them all.

  • Trill Bill - October 16th, 2008

Ummm… I read the Rat-Tail comment, and no matter what GC has it in the bag!! Although I don’t too much like Montre’s go big on everything style, the guy came out and killed it this year! But everyone this year killed it! I hope next year is just as nuts. I hope many of us posting kill it next year too, and get more edits under our belts, but if anything keep rolling!

  • michael robinson - October 16th, 2008

    farmer for life busterss

  • mark - October 16th, 2008

    broskow is a lend

  • ERA crew - October 17th, 2008

    Chris Haffey for King!

The only one who has accomplished a great deal in the past year,

For me he is the one who is still at the top when it comes to representing rollerblading.

2nd choice would have been Chaz Sands though…

  • Hells Satan - October 17th, 2008

Why are there only americans in this vote?

  • Demetrius - October 17th, 2008

    ALEX

  • Bren-Cruz - October 17th, 2008

  • Fuck all those usa skaters - October 20th, 2008

SVEN BOEKHORST IS THE SKATER OF YEAR !

  • Wouter - October 20th, 2008

    Aragon!!

  • junior lhamastore.com - October 20th, 2008

I know that most of all skaters are into the top for at least 4 5 years, except by Jon Jon and Montre… I suppose that everyone should wait until we have SDSF to nominate who will be the one for 2008. I’m between, Broskow, Aragon, Bailey and Haffey.

I’m using criteria of results of lastest championships.

  • sdsf - October 20th, 2008

    eaaassssaaaayyyyyyy! haffey

  • iamrandyedwards - October 20th, 2008

    Broskow

  • Justin Spears - October 20th, 2008

im gonna go with Jeff Stockwell based on the mere fact that his style alone is ten times doper than anyone else on the list. I think ur all fuck crazy if u cant see this. JEFF STOCKWELL- THE BEST THIS YEAR LAST YEAR NEXT YEAR DONT MATTER JEFF STOCKWELL WILL WRECK UR WHOLE CREW SOLO WITH CHOLLOS LURKING IN THE XJADOS

  • Controlled Accidents - October 20th, 2008

Brosky is the supreme complete urban surfer.

  • Gladder - October 20th, 2008

Definitely gonna be choosing Zach “Webby” Murphy. I dont know what the rest of you are smoking, but in my opinion Murphy outskated every singly contestant by far. Video sections, comp results, photos-its all there in the pages of ONE and everywhere else i looked over this past year. Zach Murphy is the skater of the year! Your done, your finished, thats the final say so the conclusion, the winner.

  • J FRSH - October 20th, 2008

The skater of the year in my opinion goes to Haffey. Hes got the biggest balls does crazier tricks than you and compared to broskow hes better bc he goes bigger-PLAIN AND SIMPLE. HAFFEY GOES THE BIGGEST.

In my opinion i also wanted to say that anyone can rollerblade u little puke. ur gonna go to a competition and realize hey everyone’s good bc our sport is EASY. get a skateboard or get a job u little puke. QUIT!

  • Charlie M. - October 20th, 2008

    AB.1

  • RemiX_UH44 - October 21st, 2008

    Why only US skaters?

    I vote for Edwin Wieringh!

  • Mohawk 35 - October 21st, 2008

my boy stockWELL is bringin it rough this year. hes the essence of rollerblading.

if u arent into stockWELLs skating then u arent stylish.

Remember: “peacock feathers are long because peacocks are tall strange birds”

  • pubes - October 21st, 2008

BAILEY IS A GOD, BUT STOCKWELL STILL AMAZES ME EVERY TIME I WATCH HIM SKATE. GOTTA GO WITH STOCKWELL-THE INNOVATOR, THE KING. DUSTIN LATIMER IS ALL TIME SKATE GOD BUT WHO NEEDS TO TOLD THAT EVERYONE KNOWS DL WILL REIGN AS ALL TIME GOD FOR YEARS TOO COME. JS IS A GOD TOO IN MY EYES. STOCKS PROB THE ONLY BLADER WHO CONSISTENTLY CAN BUST DIFFICULT HAMMERS WITH STYLE. STOCKWELL UR STILL A POS WITH NO LIFE BUT I LUV YA BUDDY BC UR A CONSISTENT POS WITH STYLE.

  • Suge Knight - October 21st, 2008

Joe Javad Navran aint shit but a mark and i might tell some homies next time dudes in vegas to pay him a visit. Hey Joe, you got something to say to me?

But yo the real winner here oughtta be Chris Haffey. Dude skates like a G fo sho and yall best pay homage to the GOD. Chris Haffey keep doin yo thing G. Joe Navran and the rest of yall best be staying outta trouble if you no what I mean.

  • 2pac - October 21st, 2008

Chris Haffey=sickest skater of all time, goes bigger than all yall. he doesnt need to win any competitions. yall cant see this niggas talent? yall dint fly ova the cuckoo’s nest if yall think Broskow deserves even a running toilet.

Yall need to appreciate the best when yall see the best Haffyacalypse Now!

  • Germ Wellsmore - October 21st, 2008

hats off to Christopher Haffey. this guy deserves more credit because the tricks he attempts and mostly lands are life threatening and stylish. the best of both worlds. Aragon is in this category and Broskys almost there but Haffey takes the crown this year for sure.

  • silva danilo - October 21st, 2008

    why only us skaters?

somebody know fabio enes from brazil for me he’s better.

Gotta go with my man Brian Aragon, he’s got killer style no doubt!

  • curtis gray - October 21st, 2008

Richie V is the choice. No one gets more involed and loves the sport…. His work he has done for the kids should be commended and applauded. His love for the inner city children to keep them off the streets speaks for its self. And by the way wait till his son is older and rules

  • vegas chris - October 21st, 2008

there needs to be another IMYTA to decide this.

  • Germ Wellsmore - October 21st, 2008

what rollerblading needs is a rebirth of a man named Jeff Bus. This guy invented the fakie misty flip. Who the fuck can do a fakie misty flip? YOU FIND ME A BLADER WHO CAN PULL A FAKIE MISTY FLIP AND ILL QUIT. YOU FIND ME A BLADER WHO CAN DO A FAKIE MISTY FLIP NAKED AND WE CAN END THIS DEBATE RIGHT NOW. JEFF BUS-SKATER OF THE YEAR.

  • Mark - October 21st, 2008

Broskow Rules!!!! hes always doin hammers, hes got style!!!Yeah!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tommy G - October 22nd, 2008

    BROSKOW!!!

    1. He had some big competition wins this year.

    2. He is always just so fast and smooth.

    3. He is such a quality guy.

    4. If a new 4×4 video drops at christmas………ouch!

    5. He deserves it for a career of tricks we could only imagine doing.

  • wesdriver - October 22nd, 2008

The nominations were picked by YOU, the readers, so if there is a lack of International skaters on the list, it means they didn’t get enough votes in comparison to these people! Sorry, but the contest was open to EVERYONE in the world and this is how the cookie crumbled so to speak.

  • Deano - October 22nd, 2008

i agree with wes but we do NEED a european nominted skater of the year!maybe a separate award. u listening be-mag

  • je - October 22nd, 2008

    Dear “Inline Insider”,

In a post above you wrote “I hear Tom Hyser tried to convince ONE not to have Richie on the list because Tom is trying to kick him off the team. I hear he tried to offer them money and take out ads for RB if they didn’t include him. Weaksauce. Props to ONE for keeping it legit.”

While I thank you for your props, and agree that we keep it legit, I have to COMPLETELY DENY your accusation that Tom Hyser or anyone at all has in any way attempted to interfere with our voting process. That is a load of you-know-what. And for the absolute permanent record, no one outside of Wes Driver or I had any knowledge of who the Top 10 Nominees were until the moment the polling went live. Wes said it perfectly. These badass blade dudes were picked by skaters just like YOU from ALL OVER THE WORLD.

This is democracy kid, and like it or leave it the power is out of anyone’s hands… and at the mercy of the PEOPLE!

PS–Yo Germ, Omar Wysong was busting fakie “pancake” flips back at mid-west Am Jams in 1996.

  • Germ Wellsmore - October 22nd, 2008

my boy Jeff Bus laces naked straight up

fakie misty flips, not bio “pancake” wee man flips

Im talkin straight up go backwards toward a

ramp and look down grab ur

nuts hail mary hope u dont

land on ur head type deals NAKED

shall we continue this debacle? or

will u finally see things my way

    JEFF BUS-SKATER OF THE YEAR

  • SUGE - October 22nd, 2008

Its not a democracy when u got niggas like Germ taking all the facts and distorting shit. Yo I know that fool Jeff Buss dudes a G and yes dude can bust fakie misties naked but only problem is Jeff Buss is not on the list homie and you got no place callin the shots round here lil homie. Yo Germ, if you gotta problem homie you kneed to get updated with the times G. Year is 2008, Jeff Buss probably doesnt even rollerblade no mo.

  • SUGE - October 22nd, 2008

oh yeah my vote goes to Chris Haffey.

Chris Haffey laces hammers and is consistent. Dudes got the most

versatility too, i noticed, he wins comps and hell bust the most

    difficult tricks on big objects.

p.s. Joe Javad Navran, this goes out as a warning to you lil homie

you best keep yo mouth shut and yo opinions inside. Im livin in ur neck of

the woods now. Be good homie.

  • Tygajuice - October 23rd, 2008

    Alex Broskow for sure!

  • ashley - October 23rd, 2008

My vote is for Richie! From working with him hear at Woodward I get to see how much love for the sport he has. He does so much to keep inline alive, if it wasn’t for Richie I don’t think Inline would still be an option here. He gets tons of kids involved in the sport. So my vote is for him.

  • chadhornish - October 23rd, 2008

    FAGZ RICHIE!!!

  • tom boy - October 23rd, 2008

I agree. Everyone on list rocks but my vote is for Richie too. He does a lot for the industry.

  • Ben G - October 23rd, 2008

    I agree. Richie the man.

  • CARNAL_KNOWLEDGE - October 23rd, 2008

richie velasquez is my #1 choice just because

  • Guess What? - October 23rd, 2008

Jeff Stockwell is the best skater this year simply bc his flow is better than the rest of the pack.

Have you ever really watched this cat skate? If you cant appreciate a skater who keeps charging, in every video and during every run in comps, then you have a lot to learn about this still young sport called rollerblading.

Basically if you dont vote for Stockwell you dont know your head from your ass.

    Peace.

  • NiDz0 - October 24th, 2008

JEFF STOCKWELL FOR THE WIN! hands down best style ive seen in awhile. now scroll up the page, give em all one more look, smile, and agree with me when I say Jeff Stockwell owns.

  • two cd's - October 29th, 2008

Gotta go with Jeff Stockwell. You and me both know Stockwell has the most experience, nuts, and overall style. Hmmmm, let me look here. There isnt anyone else who can keep up with Stockwell overall, think about it. Can Aragon skate pools and a simple quarter pipe like the expert Jeff? I think not. Find me a skater who can bust with as much consistency as Jeff Stockwell and Ill produce a commemorative plague, freshly baked brownies, and a medal for you. Jeff Stockwell-Skater of the Year

    RICHIE V

Ask yourself What Pro has gone beyond what is expected of him? Pro’s are expected to do cool killer tricks- that is what separates them from the Amateurs. Richie has consistantly brought together young isolated ‘bladers from all over the country and given them the opportunity to be with other ‘bladers for the chance to improve their skills and compete in an excellent skatepark. No one else has done more to bring ‘blading beyond the isolation of the various small inner circles and out into the public eye, giving it a sense of community.

Since Richie is getting old, that is another reason to vote for him THIS year; The young guys can go win it next year.

2nd choice is Aragon, since he just had the honor of a public skatepark named after him in the Denver area, and is just beginning to make ‘blading just as well known as skateboarding in Colorado. Brian is also an excellent athlete and capable of matching anyone else’s tricks, on top of doing a lot of crazy stuff of his own that others can not do. If he keeps up the good work publically promoting the sport, maybe he is the one who should win NEXT year.

    Richie V all the way!

  • D - November 11th, 2008

Are we voting on which person can spin this much or lock in their feet a certain way, or how much the person has done to make the world of rollerblading better for everyone? No matter who you think has that certain style thats better than everyone else’s, the truth is that Richie Velasquez has been working every second hes been awake to make rollerblading for you. thats right, he has dedicated his whole life to serving you and the other candidates. So he may not have the perfect style but blame it on the fact that all his skating time now goes to recruiting children accross the country to skate, promoting the sport, bringing revenue to the the skate shops and skateparks out there, setting up the largest inline competition in the world (AIL), as well as competing against the people who skate everyday. I dont think anyone since the inventor of the inline skate has done as much for rollerblading as Richie Velasquez and you should consider all that he has done and that no one else has had that kind of motivational dedication to our sport.

So if you think your favorite skater shouldnt have to work at mcdonalds to make any money, then you should definitely vote

    RICHIE VELASQUEZ
