PHOTO JOURNAL

I’ve known Paul Yacovone since we were in the 7th grade, and since then he’s always been one my best friends. For those who don’t know who he is, Paul is a photographer that blades every so often when he’s feeling it. Which is normally once a week for about 20 minutes (if that). What blows my mind is that he’s so freakin’ good at it! But that’s kinda how Paul rolls. He’s good at everything he does, even if he has never done it before (which pisses me off). Not to mention he’s a fucking smart ass. Even if I did the hardest trick in the world he’d still never be impressed. He’s a good dude though.

Anyways… this particular day was just a typical summer day, driving around, thinking of a spot to skate. Then we decided to hit up the Ledges in downtown Providence at India Point Park. After dicking around for a bit with Paul stalling true topsoul on a curb, I said, “Do it up on the top ledge.” And of course he landed the TTS first try!

The shot you’re now looking at is pretty bad ass for two reasons: 1) Paul is normally always behind the camera shooting me, and 2) I don’t really shoot photos. As I said “Not bad” and handed the camera to him to see the photo he said, “Yeah, it’s fisheye. Pretty easy to make anything look good.” So like I said, he’s always ready with a smart ass comment. Ha ha.

This photo was shot on a Canon t2i with an 8mm fisheye lens. — Jeff Dalnas
