EVENTS: BCSD 2007 Revisted

One week until the 2008 Bittercold Showdown seems like a good time to check out some pics from last year’s event. Tomorrow we’ll post an interview with event founder Daniel Kinney to discuss all the details for this year’s event, but for now check this out. Your man Brad Magnuson with his trademark True Soul down the big box at Vertigo (R.I.P.).

Before he was hustling umbrellas Jon was still hustling Valo. Mike Opalek on the far end too, anchoring the Empire booth.

Two fine supporters of rollerblading, Mr. James and Ms. Gretchen.

Yours truly, flapping jaws for sure with one of our readers, while the Rat Tail booth that later got stripped to the bone by rabid customers looms in the background, ominously.

We had shirts, stickers, pins, and a then-new issue with Chris Cheshire. So sick.

The snowflake that started an international incident. But don’t worry, it’s cool.

Rail master extraordinaire. SK is known to break out at BCSD.

It’s like MJ’s “Thriller” came alive and did sweet tricks. St. John pwning.

Stockwell with an ill Fakie 360 Shifty.

Ben Weis getting large with a big disaster 360 Topsoul.

Another epic trick by Haffey, the Fakie 720 Kind Grind.

Franky later tried disaster hurricane top soul so many times it made my hips hurt just watching him take the slams. Before all that he laced this sick and perfectly clean Gap to Fish to Fakie.

Brian Aragon won the event, but Mr. Line-Destroyer Jeff Stockwell won some cash for his impeccable skatepark abilities. Well earned.

Okay, so that’s what Daniel Kinney hooked us up with to stoke you all out for this year’s event, and stay tuned like we said for the scoop tomorrow when DK tells us what’s up for next weekend.
