Pieper’s Backyard Box

Somewhere in the idyllic neighborhoods of the American dream, where the grass is green and the streets are lined with lampposts, a boy named Eric Pieper resides in a house where he and his roommates constructed a grind box. It’s a heavy box and strong enough to take a beating.

It was a perfect California day, the dogs were barking and the beer was cold. Pieper, Okie and I skated the box for a couple hours — it was a fun and mellow session. A few clean tricks were laid down, but it wasn’t about lacing the hardest trick. It’s all about falling without getting hurt. It’s about backyards and ice chest, you know… the journey. Okie took command of the camera for a while and let the old guys remember a few tricks we had put away.

This edit shows why we roll. Moments like this… just chillin with good friends doing what makes us happy. Thanks to Eric Pieper for inviting us to play with his box.
