I do love shooting with the DRC’s Harry Abel. The guy has got such a well-developed eye for spots and a incredibly unique way of approaching skating. During my recent time shooting with him, it’s lead me into some much appreciated challenges when coming to capture Harry’s unique skating abilities. This shot was not one of them! A sick but simple drop off into a bank was the spot of choice but it was the very descriptive scenery that provided the challenge. So much going on both on the ground and in the sky — as well as the trick at hand — it all needed to be documented. I hatched a plan and as Harry knocked out this super cool Safety grab into the bank, the first part of the plan was executed perfectly. Many hours later in the PS darkroom and the job was finally complete.
