In the early Aughts CJ Wellsmore burst onto the international scene with breakout performances on the LC Action Sports tour, and he’s never looked back since. Forever touring and “Doing The Thing” as his tour diaries showcase, CJ is a ball of raw energy that infects everyone around him with enthusiasm. So it’s no surprise that he regularly harnesses the energy of big crowds to push his skating to new heights. We wanted to capture that in the magazine for a while, and it finally happened in 2013 when CJ teamed up with photographer Hayden Golder to shoot a profile in Sydney that properly captured the breadth of CJ’s capabilities. From huge drop-ins to drop-ledge grinds and his signature prowess in the air, the feature ran in Issue #21 and has forever stood as testament to one of the best to ever do it.
