This year the Boston Street Battle is on November 14th. As a cold street contest this event marks the end of 2009 and comfortable street skating weather and the beginning of indoor, winter skatepark sessions in New England.
This year it’s less of a marathon-style contest and more of a spot battle; if you don’t like a certain spot then you don’t have to skate it. Whoever destroys a spot the most will win stuff at that spot. You can win as many spots as you like and whoever wins the most spots is the champion. Prizes for the Top 3 at each spot, as well as best trick(s), a “grom” 17 and under award, an old man 30+ award, and other giveaways where deserved.
The meeting spot and warm up session is 10:00AM at: Hyde Park Skate Park, 1 Reservation Road, Hyde Park, Massachusetts 02136.
Beantown, Boston b costin u a pretty penny when ur out shoppin for spots. Benzinoville as I like to refer to it. Forget what u heard, skip a beat, in Beantown we skate the streets. UGGHH!
Definitely gonna be there repping my pigeon clap, wait…whats this? Park Rangers moving ahead of the pack?, look at this freshly capped rail, that spot got jacked, nope, THE BIRD BROUGHT AN ELECTRIC SAW to handle that. Knobs, caps, metal wraps fuckin up our natural street habitat. Im making due with what local authorities always seem to ruin. Cops out ther screwin with our ledges and rails. Little did they know I got experience handling saws, I show up to the spots extra early with a saw and hammer in hand, my focus centered surely on the fact that the show must go on.
It’s gonna be cold!
I’m not sure what any of that means
It will be cold as hell but if peeps like John Bolino and crew turn up it would be awsome, and there doing a 30+ award miiiiint im not far off entering that baby 😀
