35 edits. That’s how many deals I shot and chopped in 2012. Not bad for a calendar year with 52 weeks. Not bad for having a full-time career as well as a magazine to run and a full palette of other real-life obligations and responsibilities. Not bad for having on average one day to blade/film per week.
Not even bad for a guy who really doesn’t know how to film or edit.
But that’s what 2012 was all about — learning. Trial by fire. Looking back, I feel like it worked.
Not only did I get to spend a lot of quality time with the SD blade buds, but I spent a lot of time with my camera in my hands and then even more time looking at the results and thinking about what I’d done right and wrong. Overall, it’s been great.
Huge props to everyone who bladed for my projects — I could not have done any of this without you guys. And thanks to everyone who’s on board for more things to come. Got a lot in the works for 2013 and it should be a whole new set of challenges with, hopefully, exciting results.
Here’s the full run down. Watch ’em all!
Thanks for the tag D=
all the vids are sick nasty, dude. JE, what kind of setting are you runnin on your canon during shoots? is iso steady or do you keep it on auto?…
Thanks, Timothy. No auto nuthin’ except white balance. Generally shoot shutter 160 at ISO 200 with 60fps.
