Last weekend bladers from all over descended on Manhattan for the Third Annual Boschi Pope Skate Off. Once again the destination was the Hamilton Bridge Skatepark, and once again the blading talent that showed up did not disappoint. Photographer Zach Hagen was on the scene to document the event, and managed to capture a barrage of 35mm film images that evoke a sense of vintage NYC many of us have seen only in films or on TV. Beyond showcasing the tricks that make these events so exciting for spectators, Zach’s images provide a sense of what it was like to be at the event, amidst the crowds and heat, experiencing another great day of blade culture.
