On the way to our room we were impressed by these projected room numbers pouring out from beneath the metal facades. Pretty posh. Sadly our only view was of people in their small-as-shit apartments, looking at computer screens. Fun stuff!

After killing that Patron and eating some chow we caught a cab between bursts of rain and made our way to the East River Bar (doesn’t sound like a real name!) to meet up for the party. This was almost a problem, as at the door three assholes tried to charge us $20 a head to get in. A rather intoxicated and determined Tim was not having it. But we retreated outside to reconsider. We tried again to no avail, but then someone went in to find Franco Cammayo who worked us the ‘normal’ rate of $5. Not sure what the hell happened but we let those cocksuckers have a piece of our minds. They kissed our asses after that, too. Thanks, dicks.

$5 tallboy and shot was the game of the night, and huddled outside on the patio were bladers and the unexpected celebrity ‘guest’ Rosario Dawson. So that happened. Enough piff filled the air to lift a plow horse, and people got their swerve on. I got to catch up with B Smith (long overdue), ERod and Dustin Halleran, and even Brandon Campbell made an appearance. Damn good times. Birthday boy took fourth at the comp, got hammered and was having a fine evening, and Dusty Muffles and I were reminiscing about the time at Hoedown when I ran over his foot with a rental car. At the end of the night even Ray Mendez (dressed to the nines in a suit!) and Harold Disla rolled through. Kelly Matthews straight walked up and one-two jacked two of the birthday shots Ray picked up for Tim, and the party moved outside. There we kicked it streetside on a leather futon for a bit until the bar officially closed down.

A little later was when we ran into Adam Brierly again outside the deli where Tim was grabbing a sammy. Brierly bros are awesome. Can’t wait to see their shiza for Voodoo Show.
