Well, Joni had talked with me about this spot a lot of times, telling me that he wanted to go there. We’d seen it a long time ago from the car while we went to a friend´s house. Then one day we meet with other guys at a ledge close to the Trinitat Vella metro station — a perfect spot. We were filming some stuff there and then we went in search for other spots. That’s when we found a double handrail that wasn’t interesting enough to skate, and suddenly Joni brought this spot up again. As it’s close to Trinitat Vella too, we found it quickly. Joni’s first impression was good — he is good doing massive gaps — so I prepared all the lighting and then helped him up onto the ledge. Once up there he did put on his skates and climbed the bank. Twice he rolled to drop, and though I took both photos, we finally decided to use this one. For me, the most important elements of this pic are the color palette, and that the skaters is perfectly focused — it almost makes you feel a static sensation. Thanks to Joni Prados for every session — a big hug for my brother, a great skater from Barcelona, skating for ONELOVE distr — and giving some fresh breath to the national scene at Spain.
Hell yes! Gitano rocks! Keep it up boys! 🙂
