During the intense few months that Dan and I spent shooting for his feature in the upcoming ONE print issue, we found ourselves all over the west country in search of spots that could make great shots. On one of the very last weekends we spent a day shooting in both Poole and Bournemouth, two cities that Dan considers his home turf. So after the home town hero nearly had his trainers nicked by the most eagle eyed tramp of the South coast we headed to this little treat of a spot. The dull natural lighting provided by the cloudy day we was treated to made lighting the shot a bit challenging. So I dropped the shutter speed down to 1/250 which allowed me to fully control the strobes to gain the lighting I desired for the scene. For glass I used my trusty 1.8 85mm Nikkor and as usual, after looking at a few ideas, I ended up lying on the cold dirty floor to get the angle I wanted for Dan’s fast tap Truespin Mistrial. — Sam Cooper
