First skate of the new year saw myself, Ollie Jones, and Dan Loveless hitting up some locations in Bristol that we thought might have a decent spot or two. A random little school in Kingswood that I had a horrible feeling would be a major bust turned out to be quite the opposite. After we had surveyed its surroundings and successfully Action Man’d it over the fences, we found quite a few decent spots. Both the lads killed the rail, with Ollie smashing out this perfect Alleyoop-Makio a hand-full of times with way too much ease. I had two strobes at full power to light both Ollie and the scene up, as I wanted to hold onto as much detail in the moody sky while freezing the action just enough. There wasn’t much room around the spot to allow me to get creative with a long lens, so I got super close to the action with my Sigma 10mm fisheye to make what is quite a standard spot look a little more interesting. — Sam Cooper
