We’re pretty sure our interest in Chromeo stems from our past experiences with Drew Bachrach’s video offerings and his flair for all things wacky. Have you checked out the still-breathing The Cause site? Do that then think about Chromeo. Hell, for Halloween Drew B could “dress up” as Chromeo frontman Dave 1. But I’m digressing. If you aren’t familiar with the efforts of Dave 1 and partner P-Thugg (the double “g” makes us think about Upgrayedd from “Idiocracy”) you can learn more here and here, but the bottom line is don’t take these guys too seriously, because they’re out to have a good time, not solve your problems or make you ponder the universe. One listen to “Mama’s Boy” should make that crystal clear. Their third full-length album, Business Casual, drops on September 14th, and they’re cruising through the House of Blues San Diego on August 16th. We’ll be there checking out all the “Fancy Footwork,” finding out a bit about what makes these guys tick. We’re gonna prep by watching some DrewTube. — ONE
