“Mick might have moved away from Austin, but that doesn’t mean the party is over. The party never ends. We’ve wanted to make an edit together since we started Jumbo and this was a good excuse to take some trips together. I think we filmed this in about…. Let me think…. 6 trips? Short and sweet, but it’s gotta be like that when there’s a 1000 miles between us.
Editing Mick is always a struggle for me. Because the way he skates is very specific and the music he likes is also…. very specific. Don’t get me wrong, I like Mick’s taste in music, it’s just super hard to edit to some of it. I think this was the 4th try. I think it worked the best.
I think it’s normal to look at something and think ‘oh, we could have done better. I wish we would have done more,’ etc… I say this at the end of the video, “we wouldn’t be friends if Mick wasn’t bummed every time he laced something.” I think that kind of attitude is important if the goal is to improve. Not like we’re striving for greatness or anything but… Close to good is good enough. For me, at least.
I know he’s got a couple of other parts coming out at the beginning of 2026, so this is just the beginning. We’re off to a start… Hopefully it’s a good one.
